Charges against two men accused in a death in east Denver have been upgraded to murder, the District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Zar Yar, 24, and Yer Zit, 27, in December as accessories to murder. On Tuesday the pair were charged with first-degree murder, accessory to first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
On Dec. 4, 2014, Denver police responded to a report of a body found in the alley in the 1300 block between Xenia and Xanthia streets. They found the victim in the alley and later located a crime scene in an apartment nearby.
Yar and Zit were taken into custody the next day. On Tuesday, the DA’s office said completion of the autopsy report and additional forensic results from the Denver Crime Lab resulted in the new charges.
