Getting your player ready...

Ice fishing season is over for the lower reservoirs. Hard-water anglers will have to spend the rest of the season in the high country. Green Mountain Reservoir is your best bet for lake trout. For rainbows, consider Williams Creek Reservoir. While open water abounds, the catching doesn’t, but it should improve as the waters warm. St. Vrain State Park is fishing well for stocked trout. Lon Hagler, Aurora, Cherry Creek, Estes and Horsetooth are producing a few trout. Boulder Reservoir is doing fair for walleye toward dusk with jerkbaits. A few of the smaller urban ponds are producing a few smaller crappie and an occasional largemouth. Look for them in shallow water with a dark bottom.
