1 Ransomed dog released. A man in the 8100 block of South Deer Creek Canyon Road, Morrison, reported to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office that his dog ran away Feb. 11 and a man wanted ransom for its return. The suspect said the dog entered his house and attacked his cat, and he wanted money to pay for future vet bills. The dog owner agreed to pay only current bills. After consulting an attorney, the cat owner released the dog.

2 Man kicked out of Table Mountain Inn. Police were dispatched to Table Mountain Inn, 1301 Washington Ave., Golden, on Feb. 9, where a man caused a disturbance and then left with his pug. Police contacted the man, who said the city’s officials are corrupt and in a conspiracy that includes the hotel. He continued to be irrate and his hotel stay was revoked.

3 Mysterious baby. On Feb. 7, an employee of Home Depot, 16900 W. Colfax Ave., reported a suspicious incident: she saw a woman bring a baby into the store but leave without it. Police searched the store but found no unattended baby. In surveillance footage, a man was seen entering the store with the woman and leaving with the baby. The employee is seen looking down, texting.

4 Scammer can’t give car away. A resident of the 31000 block of Rocky Village Drive, Evergreen, reported that a man called to say she won a Mercedes and money, and only had to send a processing fee from Walmart to get her prize. The woman responded by saying she can’t drive and doesn’t need a car. The man and a woman who called later kept asking why she didn’t want the car.
