You can’t find a part of Denver with fewer new homes available than in Southwest/south Jefferson County – highly desirable ground that’s hemmed in by the foothills and has very good access to downtown Denver’s attractions, too. Any builder that’s been able to offer ranch plans on rare home sites in that area has seen them evaporate like spring snow – and that could well be the case for 41 ranches that Taylor Morrison Homes is grand-opening today, walking distance from restaurants in Littleton’s historic downtown.

Taylor Morrison’s Willowcroft Manor is actually in the town of Columbine Valley, the incorporation with its own police force that wraps Columbine Country Club along Platte Canyon Drive. This is one of the last new home parcels anywhere in this prime area – in this case only a half mile from the country club, closer still to Littleton Golf & Tennis Club and the Platte River Greenway bike trail that spans south to Waterton Canyon, north into downtown Denver.

The restaurant scene that’s within a mile of here gets more amazing by the year, not counting the easy Light Rail access into Denver. (Whether these ranch buyers are younger or older, many are still working and want the commuter convenience). Those are among many factors that prompted Taylor Morrison to take an upscale look at this offering and the model you’ll tour, from the mid-$600s.

“This buyer wants zero stairs,” says Desiree James, who already has four sales in advance of today’s opening. “Some of them are coming out of homes of 5,000 or 6,000 square feet, and they very much want to show off elegant entertaining spaces.” Some early purchasers already have snowbird places down in the desert, and getting landscape maintenance is a big deal.

Taylor Morrison is taking away those concerns with front yard landscape maintenance and snow removal that will be provided from around $165 a month – very reasonable if you’ve been shopping comparables around town, particularly at this size.

You’ll see generous sizing at 2,193 to 2,822 square feet, three bedrooms and up to four, with standard 3-car garages and options to finish more guest space and entertaining area in the basements. Taylor Morrison is providing 10-foot ceilings, six-panel doors, 42-inch maple flat-panel kitchen cabinets, big islands, slab granite, double ovens and other choice finishes. Buy now, says James, and Taylor Morrison will give you $10,000 toward designer upgrades (restrictions apply; see the sales agent for details).

Willowcroft is just south of Bowles, east of Platte Canyon Drive. To reach the model grand opening, take S. Santa Fe to Bowles (at downtown Littleton) and turn west, just under a mile to Middlefield, then turn left to Aljor.
