AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — The Air Force Academy is holding a hearing to determine whether a cadet should face a military trial on modified charges of sexual misconduct.

The hearing is scheduled Monday for junior Brock W. Mangum.

Mangum was charged last year with sexual assault and abusive sexual contact against a female cadet.

The female cadet testified last year that she had fallen asleep while watching TV with Mangum and awoke to find him assaulting her. The Gazette (http://bit.ly/1B1TnQ0 ) reports that the case stalled after she told a military hearing officer that she considered Mangum a friend and didn’t want him to face a court martial.

The Air Force says the modified charges include allegations of sexual assault and fondling.
