Today is a good day for Mile High oyster fans: in Denver’s Union Station is launching a happy hour that celebrates the bicoastal bivalves. (Yes, Gulf staters, we know the continental U.S. features three coasts, but we couldn’t resist the alliteration…)
Dubbed the Aww Shucks Happy Hour, executive and his crew is featuring a rotating
oyster selection featuring such premium shellfish as Navy Points, Snow Creeks and Martha’s Vineyard. The cost: $2 each, which is a bargain.
Pierce noted in the announcement that “we’re leaving the commodity oysters like Barcats or Malpeques in the ocean for happy hour.” Harrumph!
The bar gets into the action with house wines, a daily granita cocktail or selected beer for $3 each. Happy hour specials will run 2 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Stoic and Genuine is located inside Union Station at 1701 Wynkoop St.
