A woman was killed in a fire that broke out Monday morning at an Aurora apartment complex.
The fire happened at the Liberty Creek Apartments on the 13100 block of East Kansas Drive. Investigators determined the fire was caused by a person smoking while on oxygen.
Officials initially said a woman was injured in the blaze and taken to a hospital before later announcing her death.
The fire department said the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the person killed in the blaze.
