All lanes of U.S. 6 are scheduled to close overnight Wednesday at Federal Boulevard as construction crews set girders on the bridge there.

The highway will closed between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. on Thursday. Crews will begin closing lanes in the area at about 7 p.m. in preparation for the full closure.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says motorists should also be aware of lane closures on Interstate 25 near the U.S. 6 interchange on Wednesday night as crews complete drainage operations in the median.

“With the recent downturn in weather, drivers are encourages to remain alert, pay careful attention and always drive distraction-free when navigating the project corridor,” CDOT said in a news release.

The construction and closures are part of CDOT’s U.S. 6 Bridges Design Build Project.
