Authorities in El Paso County are responding Monday afternoon to a single-vehicle rollover crash east of Colorado Springs that left four people injured, at least two of them seriously.

Five people were in the vehicle, four of them children, when it crashed on Ellicott Road in the eastern part of the county in Calhan, according to the county sheriff’s office.

The Colorado State Patrol says the crash happened near Sanborn Road and that four people were injured in the wreck, two of whom were flown by helicopter to a hospital.

Two others were taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, the patrol said.

The patrol says the vehicle was a 1992 Chevrolet convertible.

Officials say they were notified of the crash at about 1:45 p.m. The patrol said the ages of those transported were not immediately clear.

This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
