Tennis superstar Martina Navratilova will be the keynote speaker for The Journey, an evening fundraiser for the Junior League of Denver to support literacy efforts in the Denver-metro area, Thursday evening at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center.
The master of ceremonies for the event is former Denver Bronco Reggie Rivers. This year’s chairs are Caroline Gash and Kikki Penney, and the 2015 Honorary Chair is Arlene Hirschfeld.
All proceeds support the Junior League’s community focus to improve literacy rates for children birth through third grade in the Denver area. Funds raised helps the Junior League provide financial and volunteer support to its community partners.
Navratilova won the Wimbledon women’s singles titles a record 9 times has been described by many as the greatest singles, doubles, and mixed doubles player who’s ever lived.
In all, Navratilova, has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 Grand Slam women’s doubles titles — an all time record — and 10 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles.
