The supply of resale homes is so small now that Lennar Homes’ Mary Connelly routinely hears from people who have had Realtors come to their door, asking if they’d be willing to sell. “They usually want to,” says Connelly, “but they’re afraid that they won’t be able to find anything to move up to.” Connelly adds that Lennar can solve that problem for you today in Castle Rock, with four new homes ready now.

Connelly and Lennar’s Jon LaBouf can show you those – including two ranches – at Leafdale in The Meadows at Castle Rock, two miles north of the town’s new Philip S. Miller Park, where 1.5 miles of zip lines open Saturday, the latest thrill-packed attraction in a park designed around challenge and adventure. Castle Rock’s creative parks, says Connelly, are one reason why CNN/Money Magazine rated the town as 4th ‘Best Place to Live’ in the entire U.S. right now.

The terrain-oriented park already has a 200-step ‘challenge staircase’ open, sports fields, and seven miles of trail – and as of tomorrow, ten zip lines and a 70-foot ‘Epic Adventure Tower’ with climbing wall that are being opened a private operator. At The Meadows, buyers have all of those five minutes away, along with three big parks of their own, trails, vast open space, and The Grange center with 25-yard lap pool and lots of community events. Castle Rock’s historic downtown with lots of fun dining is two miles east.

Meanwhile, Lennar is reacting to that low-inventory market by starting a dozen homes for delivery by summer – and has the first four completions discounted now, to move them before demand is expected to swell next month. Today or this weekend you can tour two furnished models – along with a 2-story Huntington family-sized plan – over 3,000 square feet plus basement and 3-car tandem garage, reduced to $456,010. That’s the complete price – front-and-backyard landscaping, granite tops, air conditioning, keyless entry and fireplace all wrapped in as part of Lennar’s ‘Everything’s Included program.

You can also tour a Graham 3-bedroom ranch with covered porch and covered deck, with full basement under 9-foot ceilings, reduced to $410,800. Along with Lennar’s EI features, both homes come with a photovoltaic solar system on the roof – from 3.4 to 4.7 kilowatts sized to power a sizable portion of your future electric load. Lennar’s SunStreet Energy owns and maintains the system at no future cost to you, and gives you a guaranteed 20% reduction on your electric bill in return; or you can choose to buy the system now, wrap it into your mortgage, and get all of the electricity to come.

Lennar’s Leafdale neighborhood in the Meadows is west of I-25 – close to Castle Rock’s new Centura Adventist Hospital. Connelly says that the town’s growing reputation, heightened by the Money Magazine acclaim, draws buyers now from all over the Denver area, not just from Highlands Ranch and other areas along south I-25’s business campuses. Castle Rock Zip Line Tours opens tomorrow at $59 per tour. To visit Lennar this weekend, take I-25 south to Meadows/Founders Parkway, Castle Rock’s first exit, and turn west 1.5 mile (past the hospital) to Low Meadow. And if you work at Lockheed Martin or another employer in Littleton or Englewood, try the west-side commute from here on U.S. 85.
