University of Colorado Health joined the battle for northern Colorado health care dollars on Wednesday, announcing plans to build a $100 million to $125 million hospital in Longmont.
When it opens by late 2016 or early 2017, it will be the fifth full-service hospital in Boulder County and the third UCHealth hospital in northern Colorado.
UCHealth would not disclose the location of the new hospital. However, Longmont Mayor pro tem Brian Bagley said UCHealth Colorado Medical Group CEO Dan Robinson told him it would be in east Longmont, near Colorado 119.
Other UCHealth hospitals in the area are Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
