Police in Aurora have arrested a suspect and are investigating after a man died in a shooting Thursday afternoon.
The shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Lima Street. Police said the suspect is a 46-year-old man and he is in custody but his name is not being released.
“It involved one victim and one suspect who were known to each other,” Officer Diana Cooley, an Aurora police spokeswoman, said.
Cooley said the victim was shot multiple times and the shooting was precipitated over an argument. Investigators are still working, Cooley said, to determine what the argument was about.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office said Friday they have positively identified the victim but that they are not releasing his name on request from the county district attorney’s office.
Investigators declined to immediately release any further information in the case.
