RACE ROSTER

Hams and Hamstrings 5K

April 5: “Colorado’s Easter Day 5K” starts at 8 a.m. The route begins and ends at the 7-Eleven located at 7718 E. Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs. Hams will be presented to the overall winners and those with the best costume. $34 until April 4, additional $5 on race day. Family rates also offered. Raffles are held before and after the race.

Beat Beethoven 5K

March 29: The Fort Collins Symphony presents the annual benefit race for the symphony’s youth education and community engagement programs. Start time is 9 a.m. with Maestro Wes Kenney’s baton beginning the opening notes of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The goal is to complete the course before the music ends to “beat” Beethoven. All ages of walkers and runners welcome along with dogs and strollers. $30, $35 on race day, $25 group registration of three or more. Brain Booster 5K

March 28: Rachel’s Ribbons of Hope presents this annual family-friendly benefit for pediatric brain tumor research, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Festivities include the 5K, vendors, music, food, awards and more. Early registration is closed; register on-site the day of the run at 9 a.m. On-leash dogs welcome. Proceeds raise awareness and funds for the Brain Tumor Institute at Children’s National Medical Center. Bring ID, car registration and insurance to get on the base. Budweiser Bier Run

April 11: Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins Brewery and Tour Center hosts its inaugural 10K to benefit the United Way of Larimer County. 7 a.m. registration, 9:10 a.m. start. Runners and walkers welcome. $25. Must be 21 and over to participate in the race, all ages are welcome to the after-race party that includes a pancake breakfast for a $10 donation. The race starts at the United Way of Larimer County, 424 Pine St. and ends at the center, 2351 Busch Drive.

The Colorado Bicycle Racing Association for Seniors (COBRAS) time trial

April 1: COBRAS presents the 2015 Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial, a seven-week bicycle race series at Cherry Creek State Park beginning April 1 and running seven consecutive Wednesdays. $10 for junior racers, $30 for adults, $160 for seven-race series. Proceeds benefit the Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado and the Cancer Fitness Institute in memory of Hornbostel, a four-time master’s national road champion and recipient of the 2003 Lance Armstrong Spirit of Survivorship award.
