1 Arson suspected in Edgewater. On March 16, officers from Edgewater, Mountain View and Lakeside police departments responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of Eaton Street. The fire is being investigated as an arson. Two residents of the home sustained minor injuries during the fire but did not require hospitalization.
2 Birthday bite. A man’s birthday celebration ended abruptly March 10 in the 9000 block of West Seventh Place in Lakewood when his girlfriend lunged at him and bit his cheek. The couple was drinking heavily and began arguing about “life in general,” the man said. The woman was arrested for domestic violence.
3 Shoplifter found with meth, heroin. A man stopped for shoplifting March 14 at Walmart, 440 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, was found in possession of crystal meth and heroin. The Walmart manager did not pursue a theft charge, but the shoplifter was arrested for the drugs, and a weapon — a knife.
4 Bad older brother. Lakewood police officers responded to a residence in the 9100 block of West Cedar Drive on March 12 regarding a disturbance between two brothers. The sons’ mother told police her 21-year-old son was damaging property and assaulting her 16-year-old son. Officers said the younger brother possibly had a broken finger. The older son fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
5 Honda stolen. Sometime between 7 and 10 p.m. March 22, a 1994 blue Honda Accord was stolen from in front of a residence in the 2500 block of Ames Street, Edgewater.
