2015 a calmer year for regulating Colorado marijuana — but what’s still ahead?

The first year of recreational marijuana sales in Colorado saw several regulatory changes and amended laws, but things appear to have mellowed a bit in the first few months of 2015. Cannabist editor Ricardo Baca talks about the changes with Andrew Freedman, Colorado’s director of marijuana coordination.

Freedman expects “some fireworks” because there’s still tension regarding the licensed market versus the unlicensed market, which includes home grows and MMJ caregivers, who have been around a lot longer than recreational. And then there’s the issue of testing marijuana, which is required for recreational pot but not mandated for medical.
