We at The Denver Post get an awful lot of press releases with lists that indicate how Denver and Colorado compare to other cities and states in a variety of categories. Given the frequency with which Denver is included on such lists, we have come to the conclusion that Denver is one of many cities in the United States.

Counting among their number Los Angeles, New York, Cleveland and Madison, U.S. cities are metropolitan areas typically, but not always, found on the mainland of the North American continent.

Cities that didn’t make the cut include London, Bogotá and Tokyo. One particularly near-miss: Toronto.
