Denver Post hockey reporter Mike Chambers analyzes each player on the Avs’ roster (alphabetical order):

FORWARDS

Patrick Bordeleau: Enforcer missed all but one game with back and knee injuries. Signed at $1 million next season.

Daniel Briere: Pending unrestricted free agent (UFA). Likely to retire, freeing up $4 million for the team.

Jordan Caron:Hasn’t shown much since being acquired from Boston in March. Restricted free agent at $600,000.

Marc-Andre Cliche:Often centered the third line because of all the injuries. Signed at $750,000 next season.

Matt Duchene: Goals and points down. Signed at $6 million per season through 2018-19.

ANALYSIS:

Dennis Everberg: Rookie from Sweden was a pleasant surprise. Under contract next season at $625,000.

Freddie Hamilton: Acquired from San Jose in March and is a restricted free agent at $625,000.

Joey Hishon: Finally made his NHL regular-season debut at $851,000, but is a restricted free agent.

Jarome Iginla: Approaching another 30-goal season. Signed next two seasons, at $5.5 million in 2015-16.

Gabe Landeskog: Goals, points nearly same as last season. Contract through 2018-19; $4.5 million next season.

Nathan MacKinnon: Sophomore slump for 2014 Calder Trophy winner. Makes $925,000 plus bonuses next season.

Jamie McGinn: Missed all but 19 games with back problems before surgery. Signed at $3 million next season.

Cody McLeod: Led the NHL in fights. Under contract at $1.5M, $1.25M and $1.25M through 2017-18.

John Mitchell: Up-and-down season. Signed through 2016-17; will get $1.8 million next season.

Ryan O’Reilly: Late-season success after slow start. Will make $6.2 million next season.

Borna Rendulic:The rookie from Croatia was a nice surprise. Under contract at $630,000.

Alex Tanguay: Solid, consistent season. Signed at $3.5 million next season, possibly his last.

Jesse Winchester: Never made his Avs debut after preseason concussion. Will make $900,000 next season.

DEFENSEMEN

Tyson Barrie:An ideal puck-moving defenseman with a bright future. Under contract next season at $3.2 million.

Nate Guenin: Solid penalty killer, role player and teammate is under contract at $850,000 next season.

Nick Holden:Improved in a top-four role. Begins three-year extension next season: $1.5M, $1.65M and $1.8M.

Jan Hejda: Pending UFA who, at age 36, is not likely to be re-signed. Frees up $3.25 million.

Erik Johnson: The team’s only all-star, who last played Jan. 21, is signed through next season at $4.25 million.

Zach Redmond: Depth player at $800,000 next season.

Brad Stuart: Veteran played big minutes and is signed at $3.6 million each season through 2016-17.

Ryan Wilson: Oft-injured pending UFA missed all but three games; won’t be re-signed. Frees up $2.375 million.

GOALTENDERS

Reto Berra: Stellar late-season play. Signed at $1.45 million and $1.5 million over next two years.

Semyon Varlamov: Valuable with unique quickness. Contract through 2018-19, between $5.5M and $6M per.
