Denver Public Schools: Fight between 2 students involving knife leaves 1 injured

Denver Public Schools said a fight between two middle school students Friday morning that involved a knife left one of them injured and the other arrested.

Doug Schepman, a district spokesman, said the fight happened at the Denver Center for International Studies in the 500 block of West Sixth Avenue.

Denver police said the injured student was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Adriana Montano, the mother of the injured student, said her son was stabbed during the fight.

Police are investigating what exactly happened.
