Congressman Mike Coffman: office says he’s raising a ruckus — not money — over VA problems

A claim that Colorado Congressman Mike Coffman is using the to fund raise has Democrats blistering the Aurora Republican, another sign that the left believes Coffman could take on .

“Everyone in Colorado agrees we need to come together around a solution that fully funds the Aurora VA hospital, but Congressman Coffman has gone too far by using tragedy affecting our veterans to raise campaign cash,” Colorado Democratic Party spokesman Andrew Zucker said today. “Congressman Coffman needs to do what’s right, and stop using our veterans as a political tool.”

But Coffman spokesman Tyler Sandberg said Coffman isn’t fundraising off the Veterans Administration scandals.

“Mike Coffman, a Marine Corps combat veteran and the only member of Congress to serve in both Iraq wars, has been praised in near-universal, bipartisan fashion for his record of leadership on veteran’s issues,” Sandberg said.
