Embracing head coach Mike MacIntyre’s mantra of “Be uncommon,” the Colorado Buffaloes unveiled their new football uniforms Friday.
“We want Buffs to be uncommon in everything they do in life,” MacIntyre said in a release from the school. “How they treat people, how they do in the classroom, and doing all of the little things right.”
The word “uncommon” is embroidered on the back inside collar of the jersey — a reminder of MacIntyre’s motto. There are three jerseys, four pants and four helmet options in Nike’s new design.
The changes are subtle. The jerseys feature a new font for the numbers that incorporates a flatiron rock-like texture. The CU logo appears on the right hip of the pants leg and on the chest of the jersey. The helmets are white, gold, dark steel gray and black.
The home uniform will be a black jersey with white characters, gold pants and a gold helmet. The away uniform is a white jersey and pants with black characters.
It’s the first uniform change for the Buffaloes since 2010, when they reverted back to style from the late 1980s and 1990s.
