A 29-year-old Arvada man was killed late Sunday in a one-vehicle motorcycle wreck in Adams County just north of Denver.
The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 66th Avenue and Delaware Street, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Trooper Nate Reid said investigators determined the man was traveling southbound on Delaware at a high rate of speed when he lost control at a curve, struck a guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Reid said.
The state patrol says alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash but that excessive speed appears to have contributed to the wreck.
Reid said the man’s identity will be released pending notification of his family.
