Arthritis Foundation Walk
May 17: The annual Denver Walk to Cure Arthritis opens with registration at 9 a.m. and the walk following at 10:45 a.m. A 5K Fun Run, three-mile and one-mile course is included. Proceeds are used to create programs, initiatives and research for the more than 50 million Americans living with arthritis. Post-walk festivities include information, a Kid Zone, entertainment, refreshments, prizes and awards. The race is free, participants are asked to collect donations. Dogs are welcome.
Bike Fit for a Cause fit clinics
May 20: Boulder Center for Sports Medicine (BCSM) and Left Hand Brewing presents a second opportunity to have a certified bike fitter evaluate your bike. Youth Velodrome Challenge
June 2-July 8, registration open through May 16: Young athletes ages 11-16 are invited to sign up for the six-week Youth Velodrome Challenge, endorsed by the Bicycle Racing Association, at the new Boulder Valley Velodrome. The $285 cost includes the use of track bicycles, cycling shoes and team jerseys. A USA Cycling coach will teach participants. Teams meet Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Friday for 90-minute, twice-a-week sessions. The program concludes with team competitions. Register on the website.
