
PUEBLO — Pueblo lawmakers are letting the voters decide whether to allow recreational marijuana shops in their city.

concerned residents filled the city council chambers Monday night, many wearing yellow shirts that said “voice your choice” and urging their elected officials to put the issue to voters.
Councilman Bob Schilling was the only vote in favor of licensing retail pot shops, but said that he isn’t opposed to a vote in November.
Several of the six councilmembers who voted against adopting the ordinance had been in favor before the public hearing, including president Steve Nawrocki. He said the issue wasn’t worth dividing the public over.
