Re: “NSA phone data collection ruled illegal by federal appeals court,” May 8 news story; and “Federal appeals court’s NSA ruling is correct,” May 9 editorial.
Your May 8 front-page article mentions only a half-sentence about the fact that the NSA’s bulk collection of Americans’ phone records “was revealed by former agency contractor Edward Snowden in June 2013.” And your May 9 editorial makes no mention of Snowden.
Without Snowden’s whistleblowing, “data” would still be collected illegally, without our knowledge, and the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling would not have even been possible.
Isn’t it time to grant amnesty to Snowden?
