With a flag draped on the back of the stage, Chris Robinson Brotherhood opened a three-night front range run at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday. The show brought a mix of Chris Robinson Brotherhood originals, a batch of covers (including Crowes favorite Hard to Handle, originally performed by Otis Redding) and a few New Earth Mud-era gems. This range of tunes delighted the modest audience with highlights being CRB’s “(Last of the Old Time) Train Robbers” and an encore of Johnny Cash’s “Big River” and Johnny Russell’s “Catfish John.”
