Police in Colorado Springs are searching for a suspect wanted for stealing keepsakes out of a man’s car earlier this month, including an urn with the owner’s mother’s ashes.

The break-in happened outside the victim’s home near the intersection of South Cascade Avenue and Cheyenne Road. Other items taken from the car included his debit cards and his mother’s wedding rings.

Police obtained surveillance photos of the suspect, a man, using the victim’s stolen debit card at a store.

The suspect is described as being about 6-feet-tall and between 25 and 30 years old with short sandy brown hair and a thin build.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the break-in is asked to call police at (719) 444-7000.
