Today-Sunday. The Downtown Denver Arts Festival is a hometown event that’s turned into a ritual for folks who stay in town over Memorial Day weekend. It doesn’t have the flash of July’s massive Cherry Creek Arts Festival, but it has a holiday spirit all its own. And the event takes place at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, which gives it a more urban feel. This year the event is hosting 100-plus artists, who will show painting and sculpture, but also clay, jewelry, fiber, furniture, metalwork and more. The main setup will be located in Sculpture Park, at Speer Boulevard and Champa Street, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, though you are likely to do some shopping. 303-330-8237 or .
