Getting your player ready...

I recently ventured into the strange land of green, goopy drinks.

The goal is to replace a meal or two with a potable potion of assorted fruits, vegetables and canna-coconut oil.

And who knew that an experiment with kale, avocado and lime would turn out pretty rad, considering there was kale in it. Don’t get me wrong; I like my kale, but having it in a smoothie bordered on terrifying. Honestly, pretty delish, if I do say so myself.

I feel like when I drink my cannabis it kicks in faster, which, as long as I am not behind the wheel, is fine with me. I have never driven under the influence of either weed or alcohol, and as my passengers will attest, that is a good thing.

The canna-oil I used this time was made with the strong and dependable . For a morning smoothie I want a sativa, and this one never lets me down. Tons of energy, focus and fun.

If you are looking for a nighttime smoothie, follow this recipe but use an indica-infused coconut oil, and maybe low-fat milk instead of the almond milk. That would be for the sleep-inducing amino acid tryptophan. Adding milk makes more sense than adding turkey. Unless itap Thanksgiving. As Nick would say, huzzah!

Canna-banana Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 cups almond milk

⅓ cup low-fat yogurt, vanilla or honey flavored

¼ cup peanut butter

2-4 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons canna-coconut oil

¼ cup oatmeal

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 bananas, peeled and sliced

Honey drizzle, optional

Directions

1. In a blender combine all the ingredients, with the exception of the optional honey drizzle, starting with the liquids. Blend until smooth.

2. Pour the magic into a couple of glasses. If you want that extra hit of sweetness, give it a drizzle with a bit of honey.
