Castle View senior Savannah Heebner was named Thursday as the Gatorade Colorado Softball Player of the Year.
Heebner had a 20-4 record for the Sabercats with a 0.77 ERA and 263 strikeouts in 164 innings. At the plate, she batted .444 with four home runs and 16 RBIs.
“Heebner can straight-out dominate a game in the circle, and she’s become a complete player,” Douglas County coach Brian Stebbins said in a news release. “She really throws gas, and she added a good change this year that she could throw in any count.”
She will play softball at the University of Houston this fall.
