Authorities have identified a 75-year-old man apparently after an ongoing spate of arguments between neighbors.
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office says Gerald C. Donovan died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The office says his manner of death has been ruled homicide.
The county sheriff’s office said Eric Gray, 36, is being held at the Larimer County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Donovan was killed at about 5:15 p.m. at a home on the 5600 block of Thomas Court near Horseshoe Lake.
“This unfortunate, isolated situation is the result of one neighbor being unable to communicate appropriately with another,” Lt. John Feyen said Sunday in a news release.
Authorities say Donovan’s killing is not related to — two of which and were random — that have garnered national attention.
