Colorado is a good place to retire, according to a survey released Monday, with the cities of Denver and Colorado Springs both ranked in the top 10.

The survey of the best cities to retire ranked 196 U.S. cities based on their health care quality, cost of living, tax rate, crime rate, weather, well-being and walkability.

Denver came in at No. 6, with the survey citing the city’s crime rate, walkability and weather as better than that in other cities, while the cost of living ranked slightly higher than the national average.

At No. 9, Colorado Springs was cited for its health care system and residents’ sense of well-being.

Farther down the list, Lakewood ranked No. 19.

Only Arizona had more cities in the top 10, with the Phoenix metro area at No. 1, Prescott at No. 3 and Tucson at No. 4. Other cities in the top 10 were Arlington and Alexandria, Va.; Des Moines; Austin; Cape Coral, Fla.; and Franklin, Tenn.

And yes, there was also a list of the 10 worst cities for retirement. New York City topped that ranking, followed by Little Rock, Ark. and New Haven, Conn.
