Three Denver-area men were rescued on the North Platte River in Wyoming on Saturday after their boat capsized, officials said Tuesday.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming said the men were pulled from the river near the town of Saratoga, roughly 50 miles north of the Colorado border, at about 2:15 p.m.

Search and rescue teams on all-terrain vehicles found the trio clinging to a tree on the river. A rescue boat was launched upstream from where the group was stranded before taking the men ashore.

The sheriff’s office says the men were from Boulder, Westminster and Broomfield.

The men told deputies their boat capsized when it was struck by a floating tree.

“The men were able to climb up on to the tree where they floated for at least an hour until they were seen by an individual in a passing boat that dialed 911,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Authorities are still searching for the boat.

The men were medically evaluated after their rescue. Officials did not report any injuries.
