A suspected drunk driver who rear ended another vehicle and then allegedly attacked a police officer who responded to the crash was formally charged Tuesday in Denver District Court.
Chase Vasic, 21, is charged with second-degree assault, criminal attempt to disarm a peace officer, both felonies, and driving under the influence.
Vasic, prosecutors said, rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of 15th Street and Delgany Street in lower downtown at about 3 p.m. on June 10.
The charges allege that Vasic became upset and combative, attempting to disarm the responding officer after the officer noted evidence of drinking.
Vasic is free on a $10,000 bond.
His next scheduled court appearance is June 29.
