
1 Family conspiracy. The owner of the Finish Line Auto Body at 2255 W. 92nd Ave., Federal Heights, called police May 28 when a customer and his family asked to test drive a car and then never came back. The man was a previous customer, so employees didn’t grab his driver’s license. One employee said he thought it was odd that the family walked into the store on foot, and that they seemed skittish during the transaction.
2 Dropped the leash. A woman’s dog was put on 10-day quarantine after it bit another woman outside the Walgreens at 2380 W. 90th Ave., Federal Heights. The dog owner said she accidentally dropped her dog’s leash while they were at a nearby park, and the dog ran over to the parking lot and bit the victim on the hand May 29.
3 Illegally lined pockets. Store security at the Walmart at 7101 E. 128th Ave., Thornton, called police because a man tried to steal $60 worth of sporting goods by stuffing them into his pants, and then was caught with drug paraphernalia in his back pockets. He was arrested.
4 Stolen parts. A man walked into the O’Reilly Auto Parts store at 9280 Federal Blvd., Federal Heights, grabbed several items off some of the back shelves and then sprinted out the door and got away in a silver sedan May 30.
5 Shots fired. Several residents who live in the 2800 block of West 99th Circle, Federal Heights, called police May 29 because they heard gunshots in the area. Witnesses said an unknown driver in a black car sped away after the shots, but none of them saw the license plate.
