1 Jilted husband attacks. An enraged man, convinced his estranged wife had started dating, pushed his way into her apartment in the 7800 block of Barbara Ann Drive, Arvada, on May 31. He ripped a closet door off its hinges and found another man hiding, prompting him to tell them they’d both “be dead” before leaving. Police quickly found and arrested the jilted husband.

2 Neighborhood terror. An Arvada code enforcement officer spent two hours chasing an escaped German shepard in the 6300 block of Depew Street on May 29. Multiple neighbors reported being fearful of the dog, and the officer witnessed it trying to fight another dog. The animal was caught and his owner was issued a summons.

3 Profane movie patron arrested. A man who spent an entire day May 29 watching movies and drinking vodka at Elvis Cinemas, 5157 W. 64th Ave., Arvada, passed out in the movie theater. He went on a profanity-laced tirade toward an officer who woke him up, and was issued two summons’ and sent to detox.

4 Rent money gone. A resident of an apartment complex in Westminster told police May 28 that a money order he used to pay for rent had been forged and cashed illegally by the building’s office assistant at Arvada Credit Union, 8770 Wadsworth Blvd.

5 Caught red-handed. Police arrested a woman passed out in a red Mini Cooper in the parking lot of Target, 7899 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada on June 2. The intoxicated woman was holding a pill container with methamphetamine and heroin in it.
