Officials in Aurora are closing all lanes of eastbound Alameda Avenue at Sable Boulevard for emergency repairs.
The announcement was made on the about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday. The city said it was unclear when the work would be complete. Officials hope one lane might be open later Wednesday evening.
The repairs were made necessary after work on the new Aurora light rail encountered problems, the city said.
The work is part of related to the 10.5 mile light rail line. The route is due to open in 2016 and will run on the east side of Sable Boulevard and then cross Alameda Avenue at street level.
