1 Family night ruined by shotgun blast. A family enjoying an evening at home June 13 in their apartment in the 8700 block of Chase Drive in Arvada was interrupted by a shotgun blast and pellets coming through their wall. The neighbor told police he was “clearing” his home after drinking six beers at a party and noticing the front door was open when he returned; the gun discharged when he dropped it. He was issued a summons for reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a weapon.

2 Traffic laws, restraining order ignored. Police arrested a man June 10 near the 6400 block of Sheridan Boulevard in Arvada for driving with a suspended license and for riding with his girlfriend, who had an active restraining order against him.

3 Night of drinking cut short. An officer patrolling the area near West 58th Avenue and Upham Street in Arvada saw a man almost cause a traffic accident as he chased a woman across the street. The woman told police it was her boyfriend she was running from, saying he argued and pushed her after a night of drinking.

4 Spitting man arrested. A verbal argument June 13 in the 7300 block of West 84th Way in Arvada ended when a man spit in his girlfriend’s face and he was arrested for harassment.

5 Rough day for shoplifter, heroin user. Police were called to Target, 7899 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, on a report of a trio of shoplifters trying to leave with unpaid items June 17. Police found stolen items on two of the suspects, one of whom faced additional charges after heroin was found in her car seat.
