Getting your player ready...

Duke Ihenacho, a former Broncos safety, called out the NFL for its non-guaranteed contracts. (Steve Nehf, The Denver Post)

So many meetings. So many millions. That’s been the story of the NBA for the last 17 hours, as the league’s free-agent moratorium period opened and — big contracts.

Big contracts with guaranteed money.

It’s the story of every summer, and it’s not one that sits well with Duke Ihenacho, the former Bronco and current Redskins safety. Ihenacho on Wednesday to call out the NFL for its contracts that are not fully guaranteed, part of the collective bargaining agreement that was ratified by the NFL Players Association.

Ihenacho’s take:

All this guaranteed money NBA throwing. Meanwhile the NFL, which generates the most money wont even make the league minimum $1M

— Duke Ihenacho (@NachoLyfe)

Yes $1M minimum. That means every single player’s salary in the NFL should start there. Highest risk of injury..brain trauma, richest league

— Duke Ihenacho (@NachoLyfe)

No security in football. Obviously unless you hit the lick.

— Duke Ihenacho (@NachoLyfe)

The whole “there are too many players in the NFL to pay that much” argument doesn’t hold up

— Duke Ihenacho (@NachoLyfe)

The league is more than capable.

— Duke Ihenacho (@NachoLyfe)

We players don’t even speak our opinion on this because we don’t wanna be fined or punished or whatever. But most of us feel this way.
