Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a woman on Wednesday, accused of assaulting two police officers last weekend, officials said.

Brittany Thomas, 27, is charged with two counts of second-degree assault on a peace officer and one count of resisting arrest after a disturbance outside a bar, according to a Denver District Attorney news release.

Thomas was with a group of people in the 1400 block of North Uinta Street on June 26, when she tried to flee after responding officers found she had a warrant out for her arrest, the release said.

The charges allege that Thomas scratched and kicked two officers during her arrest.

Thomas remains in custody with a $5,000 bond, the release said.

She is scheduled to make a court appearance in the Denver County Courtroom 2100 on July 6, at 8:30 a.m. to be formally advised of the charges.
