The Democrat urged Coloradans to commit 10,000 random acts of kindness in six months — the deadline being Tuesday ahead of the Biennial of the Americas conference, an event he launched when he was Denver mayor. The organizers behind the effort — the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation — reported Thursday on Twitter that they met the goal. An official announcement is planned for Monday.

The initiative — dubbed #StateOfKind (no pun apparently) — urged people to document their kind acts on Twitter. The governor at public events.

The organization reported that people documented 2,300 acts on Twitter and the remainder were reported via email, said spokeswoman Kelsey Gryniewicz on Friday.

“We are so excited that thousands of Coloradans went above and beyond to reach the goal,” she said.
