An Arvada man pleaded guilty Thursday to spray-painting “my wife is a cheater” on his home in March .
William Eugene Lindauer, 31, admitted to arson, stalking and reckless endangerment in the case, Jefferson County prosecutors say. He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 10.
Lindauer when he scrawled the phrase and the name of his wife’s purported lover on the home in the early morning hours of March 10.
Witnesses told police Lindauer fled on a bicycle after his home was ablaze, speeding past a neighbor who tried to stop him as those on the block awoke to an explosion and flames, according to an arrest affidavit.
Lindauer with 13 counts in the incident.
Hours before the blaze, Lindauer bought a handgun and two types of ammunition from a Cabela’s store, he told investigators. He also said he bought vodka and began doing shots before allegedly igniting his home.
Lindauer was found by police after he called 911 in Denver “in an attempt to receive medical attention for an injured hand,” the affidavit says.
Lindauer told investigators he had no recollection of the fire, court records say.
