COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Veterans are keeping a nightly watch in front a Colorado Springs City Hall flag that’s flying in place of one that was partially burned and left in front of a miniature Statue of Liberty.

KKTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1IbIyv8) no note was left at the scene Tuesday and police have no possible suspects or motive.

Veteran Travis Weston says he traveled from Denver to camp out at the capitol and make sure the new flag stays put. He says he’s going to make the trip to keep watch after work for as long as he feels it’s necessary.

Several others joined him Tuesday night and someone donated energy drinks to the group.
