Douglas County authorities said Thursday all five guns submitted for testing as part of the investigation into the National Forest shooting death of a man earlier this month have been cleared.

Glenn Martin, 60, of Monument waiting to roast marshmallows at a campsite in Rainbow Falls Park, a campground in Pike National Forest near Deckers.

Investigators have said they believe Martin was slain by an errant bullet.

Sgt. Ron Hanavan, of the county sheriff’s office, says no suspects have been identified and an investigation into the killing remains open and ongoing.

With so many gun enthusiasts in the Rainbow Falls Park area, , especially within the past year.

Authorities say they believe Martin was shot with a high-powered rifle.

The last previous accidental shooting death in Pike National Forest was in 2009, when a 25-year-old Aurora man was killed after his friend accidentally shot him at South Rampart Shooting Range. Officials later closed the El Paso County facility.
