GREELEY — A speeding driver lost control and crashed into Colorado’s first commercially-licensed radio station building Sunday night in Greeley, fire officials say.

Witnesses said the car caught fire and they had to pull the driver out. No one inside the building was injured in the wreck at KFKA’s station near 11th Avenue and 9th Street.

“The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the Greeley Fire Department said.

The crash damaged a corner office at KFKA 1310 AM.
