Englewood police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday that left a 25-year-old man wounded.
About 3:15 a.m., officers were called to the 200 block of East Mansfield Avenue, near Englewood High School, on reports of multiple gunshots being fired, police say.
“Officers canvassed the area and initially they were not able to locate anything suspicious,” police said in a news release. “As they were checking the area, a second 911 call came in in which the caller said there was a male in her front yard and he appeared to be in distress.”
Police say the man had a gunshot wound to his shoulder and was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“Officers were able to locate multiple shell casings in the area as they continued to check the area,” the release said. “There are no suspects or vehicle information at this time. The investigation is ongoing.”
