Missouri authorities say a 21-year-old man wanted in the of an Aspen marijuana shop led police in St. Louis Wednesday on a 100 mph car chase.
The St. Louis County Police department says Hayden May also crashed head-on with a patrol car during the chase.

Authorities say May was driving a stolen 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe during the Wednesday pursuit, which had been taken from an Aspen subdivision.
After refusing Missouri officers’ commands, police say May was taken into custody.
Authorities say the stolen Chevrolet was taken from May’s former employer.
Aspen police say May, wielding a hammer, robbed a recreational marijuana shop, called Stash, on the 700 block of East Durant Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say May stole about $11,000 in “product” from the store.

Garrett Patrick, the store’s owner, told The Aspen Times May was seen fleeing the area by diners at a popular lunch spot.
“He said, ‘Sorry, I’m just really desperate now,’” Patrick told the newspaper.
Aspen police said they initially believed May was going to turn himself in on Wednesday. When he never showed, they issued an alert for his arrest.
Colorado authorities say May is also suspected of stealing a firearm in Snowmass. The gun was reported missing on Wednesday, Aspen police say.
“May is currently being held in Missouri where he faces charges related to Wednesday’s incident,” Aspen police said in a Thursday news release. “It is possible that May will be extradited to Colorado, but this process will likely take an extended amount of time.”
