A teenage developmentally delayed girl missing in Jefferson County was found Tuesday night, safe and unharmed.

A store employee spotted the missing 15-year-old about 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Bowles Avenue and South Kipling Parkway and reported it, said Mark Techmeyer, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The girl will be reunited with her family, Techmeyer said. Investigators will interview the girl about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

The girl was discovered missing about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
