
1 Underage smokers cited. Two 18-year-old men were ticketed for marijuana paraphernalia possession July 14 after police found them in a car parked behind Miller Activities Complex,1375 W. Plum Creek Parkway, Castle Rock. Two spice grinders containing marijuana residue were confiscated. Two other men in the car were carrying marijuana, but both were released because they were 21.
2 Double whammy. A resident reported that someone spun out in circles on the grass of a local park near the intersection of Dove Ridge Way and Dove Ridge Drive, Douglas County, overnight on July 24. The park’s sod was damaged in the same way two weeks prior, costing $2,000 to fix.
3 Garage break in. A woman said her garage was broken into at her apartment in the 600 block of West County Line Road, Highlands Ranch, overnight July 24. The lock had been damaged and the emergency release triggered. Items were thrown on the ground but nothing taken.
4 No glitch after all. A man living in the 9300 block of Montrose Way, Highlands Ranch, got a cellphone notification that his garage door was open at 2:30 a.m. July 26. It was, but seeing nothing disturbed, he dismissed it as a glitch. The next day, he found his truck’s glove box open and garage door opener missing.
5 Bottle-tossing vandal. A man found evidence of what appeared to be a bottle that was broken against the driver’s-side door of his car in the 600 block of Ridgeglen Way, Highlands Ranch, on July 26. He estimated it would cost at least $1,000 to fix the scratches.
