The Denver weather pattern continues Wednesday as forecasters predict another hot day with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service said the high in Denver should reach 89 degrees Wednesday under partly sunny skies, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. The chance for storms comes mainly after 3 p.m., forecasters said.

“Once again, a few storms may produce very heavy rainfall with 1 to 2 inches in 45 minutes or less,” the weather service said in a bulletin. “Small hail and wind gusts to 50 mph will also be possible with the stronger storms.”

The extended forecast shows hot temperatures and a similar chance for afternoon storms each day through Tuesday.
